David with Fergus Ewing

I am 59, married to Lena, who works in Occupational Therapy, with a married daughter. Born in Oldham, Manchester, I was educated at Forres Academy when my family moved to Findhorn in 1959.

After a period in Air Traffic Control in the Royal Air Force, I worked in the Planning & Research Department of the Highlands and Islands Development Board, before carving out a career in computing, culminating in representing the United Kingdom on specialist United Nations and EC committees – invaluable experience in the art of successful negotiation.

Moving back north to Newtonmore eighteen years ago, I turned my long standing painting hobby into a full time occupation, and with my wife Lena built up what is now Newtonmore Craft Centre and Gallery, and the Garden Café.

I am currently Chairman of Newtonmore and Vicinity Community Council, and one of two community representatives on the Badenoch and Strathspey Community Planning Partnership, and as a consequence frequently come into contact with people from all of the public agencies. I am also a member of Cairngorms Chamber of Commerce, whom I represent in matters pertaining to the Beauly to Denny Power Line Inquiry.

Through my activities, I understand and care about both communities and commerce in the area and, if elected, seek to put that understanding to good use on behalf of all our towns and villages.

Remember – you’re not voting for a single councillor for your community – you’re voting for four councillors for the whole of Badenoch and Strathspey – in this Election, therefore, I ask for your support, through your trust in making me your number one choice for Badenoch and Strathspey.

Wherever you live, from Cromdale to Dalwhinnie,
I pledge to do my very best on your behalf.

MAKE SURE THERE’S A STRONG VOICE FOR BADENOCH AND STRATHSPEY ON MAY 3RD - MAKE DAVID FALLOWS YOUR NUMBER ONE CHOICE FOR HIGHLAND COUNCIL
